Complex Time-Dependent ERP Hemispheric Asymmetries during Word Matching in Phonological, Semantic and Orthographical Matching Judgment Tasks

چکیده
Language-induced asymmetry to single word reading has been well investigated in past research. Less known are the complex processes and related asymmetries occurring when a is compared with previous one, according specific tasks. To this end, we used paradigm based on 80 sequential pair comparisons three blocked tasks: phonological, semantic orthographical matching judgment. Participants had decide whether target (W2) did or not match prime (W1), presented 2 sec before, task. The event-related potentials (ERPs) evoked by W2 20 participants have analyzed. first negative wave, Recognition Potential (RP), peaking at about 120 ms over parietal sites, showed greater amplitude left sites all tasks, thus revealing typical left-lateralization. At frontal only phonological task lateralization. following N400 (300–450 ms) an interesting interaction: Match trials elicited regions than visual-perceptual whereas mismatch induced inverted asymmetry, marked right regardless of Concerning late (450–600 ms), tasks overlapping pattern, lateralization conditions. Results point task- time-dependent hemispheric matching.

Hemispheric Processing* Asymmetries in Phonological
In Sel'boCroat lexical decision to phonologically bivalent letter sf1'ings is slowed relative to their phonologically unique C01tnterparts. This feature was exploited in order to assess the linguistic capacity of the two hemispheres. Lexical decision to laterally presented words and pseudowords revealed a right visual field advantage for both males and females in words and psettdowords. But the...
متن کاملAn Improved Semantic Schema Matching Approach
Schema matching is a critical step in many applications, such as data warehouse loading, Online Analytical Process (OLAP), Data mining, semantic web [2] and schema integration. This task is defined for finding the semantic correspondences between elements of two schemas. Recently, schema matching has found considerable interest in both research and practice. In this paper, we present a new impr...

Objective: The present study aimed to assess and compare semantic processing of spoken and written words in adolescents with cerebral palsy and healthy adolescents. Method: The present study is quantitative in terms of type and experimental in terms of method. Examination Group consisted 30 adolescents with cerebral palsy aged 10 to 15 years were selected by convenience sampling method. All of ...

Abstract. In the National Statistical Systems, some parts of the official statistics required for development planning and evidence base management are collected through sampling survey. Due to the high cost of sampling process, as well as nonresponses, it may not be possible to collect all of the expected variables in a survey. In order to obtain a comprehensive and complete source o...
متن کاملDifferent Loci of Semantic Interference in Picture Naming vs. Word-Picture Matching Tasks
Naming pictures and matching words to pictures belonging to the same semantic category impairs performance relative to when stimuli come from different semantic categories (i.e., semantic interference). Despite similar semantic interference phenomena in both picture naming and word-picture matching tasks, the locus of interference has been attributed to different levels of the language system -...
